THOUSANDS of motor sport enthusiasts turned out for the annual Bromyard Speed Festival leaving the town's street bursting to capacity.
Organisers of the festival predicted that around 10,000 people attended Sunday's event when 150 cars and 40 motorbikes from a variety of ages paraded around the streets.
The event has caught the interest of car enthusiasts and organisers had to turn away an additional 100 cars this year due to not having space in their schedule.
"It was an amazing event and everything was just about perfect," said Tony Burt, one of the five festival directors.
"We had double the amount of visitors than last year and the town was rammed.
"This year we also had a food village which saw local producers cooking interesting upmarket food. We are planning some form of event next year again but we're not sure whether it will be the same format.
"We can't expand any more and wouldn't get another 1,000 people in. Possibly we could make it a two day event but we need to think long and hard about it as we don't want to lose momentum.
"It's far bigger now than we ever dreamed and it's wearing organising the event but it was worth it on the day as I've never seen so many people in Bromyard. I have spent all day reading through Facebook comments and there were two minor suggestions but people are raving about the event which is a lovely feeling.
"The event is becoming something quite special."
