A HEREFORD charity is appealing to the community to help boost its chance of receiving a £25,000 grant to make a difference to the lives of cancer sufferers in the county.
The Yeleni Therapy & Support Centre, based on Blackfriars Street, is one of 300 charities nationwide that has been shortlisted to receive a grant of up to £25,000 Community Award from the Freemasons
Each of the nominated charities will receive a grant, but the public vote will determine how much they receive, ranging from £4,000 to £25,000.
Kate Bishop, funding co-ordinator at Yeleni Therapy & Support, said: "A grant of £25,000 would make a huge difference to our work.
"I would urge anyone and everyone to go online and vote for Yeleni Therapy & Support.
"Please remember that every single vote counts. We are the only charity in Herefordshire offering free complementary therapies to anyone with cancer of any type and at any stage.
"Cancer affects so many of us, our relations and loved ones. Secure funding enables us to reach more people and offer invaluable support."
Those who want to vote should visit the MCF website mcf.org.uk/vote, select the Herefordshire page and vote for the charity of their choice. The voting period is from Monday, June 12 until Monday, July 31.
