A HEREFORD residential block which provides supported housing for older people celebrated its 30th anniversary last week.
Great Western Court welcomed its first residents in 1987 and comprises of 30 one-bedroom rental flats for people over the age of 60.
A good range of social activities is provided including being the venue for the AGE UK weekly city day centre.
To celebrate the occasion residents and guests gathered for a celebration cream tea on Wednesday afternoon.
Mary Garbett is the only resident left who moved into the housing accommodation 30 years ago.
She was presented with a bouquet of flowers to mark the occasion.
"It's quite a nice place to live and has got beautiful gardens," said Mary.
"I have met a lot of people over the years and it's definitely communal. It's out of the way so you don't get a lot of noise."
The housing is owned and managed by Railway Housing Association, a registered social landlord.
If you would like to know more about the scheme and what goes on there you can contact the resident manager Hilary Lewis on 01432 275660.
