AN obstacle course race with more than 20 challenges to overcome is coming to Hereford Racecourse.

The Furlong Fury has been organised by Halo on July 30 and takes in a 24 furlong route (5km) with obstacles from cargo net crawls to mud baths.

ITV’s Biggest Loser trainer and presenter, Rob Edmonds,is running a free two-hour training session starting at 10am on July 22 at Hereford Leisure Centre with some essential tips to overcoming every obstacle.

He is the managing director of Urban Attack, an obstacle course hire company which has teamed up with Halo to put on the race.

Scott Rolfe, Halo’s CEO, said: “This is one fantastic fun day but also reflects our ongoing every day commitment to get people across the county active.

“That’s why the city council has given us their support (and funding), and why so many of our members are flying the Furlong Fury flag."

Money raised will go to Halo’s Sports Foundation charity.

The race is for anyone 16 or over. For under 16s there’s a Teen Wave for unaccompanied 12 to 15-year-olds, and Family Fury for the same age group but accompanied by an adult.
