CAMPAIGNERS handed out leaflets to shoppers at Hereford's Tesco store as part of a nationwide demonstration calling on the supermarket chain to drop one of its suppliers.
Hogwood Pig Farm hit national headlines recently after shocking undercover footage gathered by animal protection group VIVA revealed serious welfare issues.
Those from VIVA who took part in the Hereford demonstration handed out more than 200 leaflets and asked the public to sign a petition to Tesco, asking them to drop Hogwood Pig Farm as a supplier.
Viva 's local campaigner Max Burgess said: "We were surprised by just how everybody was really interested.
"Lots of people signed the petitions and people were stopping to discuss it with is."
She added that people were also dismayed to learn that Herefordshire has one of the highest amounts of factory farms in the country.
