AN 11-YEAR-old boy was taken to hospital after being hit by a car yesterday.
Firefighters from Hereford, the police and the ambulance service attended at 3.30pm in Whitecross Road in Hereford.
A police spokesman said: "A boy was taken to hospital as a result of the collision, with what is, at this time, believed to be a non-serious injury."
The ambulance service said they sent one ambulance to the scene and paramedics treated the boy.
He was given pain relief and taken to Hereford County Hospital.
Christine Price said her son, James, was walking home from school when the accident happened.
She said: "He has suffered a broken foot. I can only say we were treated fantastically by the emergency services all round from 3.30pm onwards.
"James was taken to hospital by ambulance and we were seen in A&E by staff, X-rays taken and a plaster cast on and we were out before 6pm.
"They were all fantastic caring, professional and efficient."
