A GROUP has been set up to look at how GP service provision could be improved for Leominster residents.
The Herefordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said the Marches and Westfield GP surgeries in the town deliver services to more than 10 per cent of the population of Herefordshire from their current base in Leominster.
They are the only GP surgeries in the largest market town in the county, with their current premises in Westfield Walk.
The CCG said their premises are approximately 40 per cent undersized with no option to extend or adapt and there is no patient parking.
As a result of these issues, a project board has been set up to include a number of organisations, including the two GP surgeries, all of whom have come together to look at how service provision could be improved.
They have been looking at ideas around improved premises and improved services and in the coming months will be seeking the views and thoughts of the wider Leominster community.
