GENERATIONS of customers have taken a shine to Hereford’s long-established jewellers, Oswin & Co over the past 130 years.
Suppliers of jewellery and watches since the late 1800s, the company has certainly managed to stand the test of time. In July, the familiar shop in Broad Street will be hoping for a bright new future when it moves to a new location in the city.
Romantics from Victorian times have peered through the elegant windows of the Oswin shop, and now the much-loved and respected jewellers will be based on the corner of Widemarsh Street and Maylord Street.
The new Oswins will boast increased floor pace with a wider selection of traditional as well as modern new and pre-loved pieces, the company has explained.
“After 130 years, Oswins has decided to relocate to 20 Widemarsh Street, previously occupied by Jones the Bootmakers. This puts them back into the heart of the city and ready to serve the future generations of the local community,” said a spokesperson.
“The new store has much more to offer, such as an on-site goldsmith offering same day repairs and the opportunity to help design your own pieces , as well as a resident jewellery valuer.”
Oswin & Co has been a feature of Broad Street since 1888 when William Henry Oswin first founded the company. The move is planned to take place in late July.
