A NORTH Herefordshire tourism company has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award that celebrates rural enterprise.
Discover Parks, who have luxury holiday home and touring caravan parks at Shobdon, Eardisland and Presteigne, have been shortlisted in the Midlands Best Rural Tourism Business category 2018/19.
The five star parks attract over ten thousands visitors to the tranquil spots of Pearl Lake, Arrow Bank and Rockbridge every year.
Owner Glenn Jones said: “We are an enthused team here at 'Discover Parks' and put maximum effort into providing customers with an opportunity to experience a lifestyle that encompasses rural living in an affordable and stress free environment.”
The winner of each category will be announced at the Rural Business Awards ceremony at Eastwood Hall in Nottingham in October. The winners of the regional finals will then go forward to the national final which takes place in February 2019.
The Rural Business Awards, now in its fourth year, are the only UK-wide business awards specifically tailored for the rural sector.
In total nine Herefordshire firms have been shortlisted for an award.
Other shortlisted firms from Herefordshire include: CXCS Ltd in Lyonshall for Best Rural Professional Services Business; Pinstone in Leominster, The Equestrian Index and Voodoochilli Design in Hereford for Best Rural Creative or Media based Business; Rural Concierge in Hereford for Best Rural Tourism Business; the Rooted Forest School in Kington for Best Rural Education or Training Business; Hereford’s Pips Cider for Best Rural Drink Business, McCartneys in Kington for Best Rural Professional Services and The Game Fair at Ragley Hall, Alcester for Best Rural Recreational or Outdoor Pursuits Business.
