A NEW order to restrict street drinking in Ross-on-Wye has had to be amended as it did not cover some problem areas.
Herefordshire Council consulted on a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in Ross last year.
A PSPO can be used to restrict the consumption of alcohol in a public space and gives the police and other designated officers additional powers within a designated area to tackle street drinking where it is having a detrimental effect to those in the locality.
The PSPO does not represent a ban on public alcohol consumption.
But at Ross Town Council on Monday night police community support officer Lisa Austin said the new order needs amending.
She said it will be done within a week but will then have to go back to consultation.
PSCO Austin said: "Some of the areas where we need help on were not covered."
