A 60-YEAR-old man was airlifted to hospital following a crash on the A4112 between Kimbolton and Leysters.
The ambulance service was called at midday on Saturday to the road near Kimbolton School to reports of a head on collision involving a car and a van.
Three ambulances, a paramedic office and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a doctor and critical care paramedic were on board.
The roof of the car was removed to extricate the front seat passenger, a 60 year old man.
An ambulance spokesman said he suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the major trauma centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
A 26 year old man from the car had head and chest pain and was taken to Hereford County Hospital.
There were three people in the van - the 39 year old driver had abrasions and a 12 year old female passenger had a seatbelt injury - both were taken to Hereford hospital.
A 34 year old woman in the van was treated for left knee pain, a right leg fracture, as well as seatbelt, head and hand pains.
