HEREFORDSHIRE Council is rolling out changes to its city centre on-street pay and display places in September.
The main changes which include an additional 2 hour tariff for £3.00 will take effect from Monday 10 September 2018 at all on street pay and display locations. Existing tariffs will remain unchanged at 50p for 30 minutes and £1 for an hour.
The council will also introduce charges at some of the parking places in Castle Street and St Ethelbert Street – the charges will mirror the rest of the city centre on street pay and display.
Councillor Barry Durkin, Cabinet Member for Transport and Regulatory Services, said: “Following the implementation of on-street parking to Hereford city centre in November 2017, the council has actively listened to feedback from businesses, locals and visitors.
“These changes to on-street parking seek to support our many local businesses and enable visitors to better experience our wonderful city by providing longer stays, whilst ensuring that the principles of our Local Transport Plan continue to be addressed.”
The council advises drivers to check street signage and machines for charges.
