Jazz in The Garden returns to Hereford Cathedral this summer for two afternoons of music in the Chapter House Garden.
A popular event in the cathedral’s summer programme, Jazz in The Garden is a free music event featuring local musicians and performers. This year, due to many events taking place at the cathedral, the programme has been reduced and will feature two afternoons.
Josie Owen, trading manager, says: “Jazz in The Garden is a favourite event of many of our visitors and we had to make sure it was present in our summer programme. Both Whiskey River Acoustic Quartet and Will Killeen have performed with us before and were very popular with our audience. We can’t wait to welcome them back to perform at the cathedral.”
On Friday, August 24, Whiskey River Acoustic Quartet will perform a wide spectrum of music including Americana, Blues, Cajun and Zydeco. The following week on Friday, August 31, Will Killeen, an acoustic blues guitarist whose style is a unique mixture of his Celtic roots and American blues, will take to the stage.
Jazz in The Garden takes place in the Chapter House Garden with the bar open from 12 noon serving a selection of beer, ciders and soft drinks. Music begins at 1pm and, in the event of wet weather, the concert will be moved into the cathedral. Tickets are not required for this event but donations are gratefully received on the day.
