A POPULAR beauty spot in the city has been hit by mysterious damage to the grass.
The grass on Castle Green has been left looking like a 'bomb site' according to reader Bob Knight who regularly walks his dog over the city centre park.
The amount of damage has increased each day he has visited, according to Mr Knight.
Photos taken of the green show patches of grass that have been dug up and discarded.
The damage may be caused by the antics of a nocturnal animal digging for food. Mr Knight believes.
A spokeswoman from Balfour Beatty, who manages the site, said: "We will conduct an inspection of reported damage at Castle Green this week to determine the cause and whether any repairs are required”.
