THE village of Orleton certainly knows how to put on a scarecrow display.
Mermaids under the sea, a ski jumper and a jumping pony were just some of the offbeat creations on display at the village's Annual Scarecrow Trail.
Prizes were awarded for the most imaginative scarecrows at at Village Fun Day on September 9 at the Orleton Recreation Ground.
'A Scarecrow Wedding' took home first prize with 'Under the Sea' crowned runner up.
Joint third place was awarded to 'On the Piste' and 'Pony and Rider', while the 'Wrestlers' won the under-16s category.
The awards were presented by the Chairman of Herefordshire Council Councillor Brian Wilcox, who also judged the creations alongside Councillor Sebastian Bowen of Bircher Ward.
