A FOOTBALL team from a Herefordshire soft fruit company took home a cup trophy.

Seasonal workers who work at S&A’s farms in Marden and Brierley played as a team at the Growers United Football Charity (GUFC) mini tournament.

GUFC aims to raise funds for charities and communities while also promoting horticultural and agricultural activities.

S&A has been involved in GUFC for several years and each year participate in at least one of the football tournaments, which are arranged between teams of seasonal workers from growers stretching from Worcestershire to the West Midlands.

Last Saturday the GUFC IFX Cup took place at Pershore Town FC and S&A won.

Members of the winning team were mostly from Bulgaria.

There is a football pitch for the workers at each of of the S&A sites.
