A MAN driving a mobility scooter died in a crash with a car.
The accident is reported to have taken place on the A49 in Much Birch, near to the Axe and Cleaver pub at around 8.30pm yesterday.
A spokesman from the ambulance service said: "Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and two basics doctors attended, together with the Midlands Air Ambulance crew from Strensham in a rapid response car.
"On arrival, crews discovered a man, from the mobility scooter, in cardiac arrest. Bystanders were already performing CPR, which ambulance staff took over.
"Advanced life support was then administered and continued en-route to Hereford Hospital.
"Unfortunately, shortly after arrival at hospital it became clear nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased."
He added: "The car driver, a woman in her 40s, was treated for minor injuries and discharged at the scene."
