NEW library opening hours are being trialled in Hay-on-Wye from October 1.
The library moved to Hay Primary School in Oxford Road in June following cuts made by Powys County Council.
A meeting was organised with representatives from Hay-on-Wye Library supporters (HOWLS), school governors; Hay Town Council and Hay Festival in August, where the new hours were decided.
A sliding wall is being installed to divide the community/library space to free up the library and talks are ongoing with Hay Festival about additional funding.
The new hours are; Monday and Thursday: 10am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3pm; Friday: 1.30pm to 6pm and Saturday: 10am-12.30pm.
