AN ELECTRICITY pole has come down in Kings Acre Road in Hereford.
The road has been blocked off while repair work takes place.
A Royal Mail vehicle has been damaged in the incident.
The road is closed both ways near Huntsmans Drive.
Traffic officers and the fire service are attending the scene near to the Post Office.
A police spokeswoman said: "We were called at 7.48am this morning to a collision between a car and a telegraph pole on Kings Acre Road, Hereford.
"Road closures are currently in place due to damage to telegraph pole.
"Western Power Distribution and Highways England currently in attendance."
There are no reported injuries.
The electricity was isolated and fire crews helped maintain a cordon around the area. Two appliances from Hereford responded.
Balfour Beatty Living Places said an emergency road closure is in place on Kings Acre Road from Wyevale Garden Centre to Whitecross Road roundabout.
They said: "An electricity pole has fallen in to the carriageway and we are expecting the closure to be in place for most of the day."
