THE damaged Silent Soldier in Ross-on-Wye has been repaired.
The Men’s Shed in Ross offered to fix the commemorative figure, which is now on display in the Market Place.
The silhouette, which was previously by the bandstand, was damaged by vandals.
The Men's Shed is a charity consisting of 22 members who are mostly retired and undertake projects for the community.
They have received grants from Herefordshire Council and Ross Town Council.
As well as fixing the damaged soldier, they refurbished the garden benches at Ross hospital, refurbished a bench for the Royal British Legion in the town, repaired garden furniture for residents as well as two pendulum clocks. They have also made hedgehog houses, bird nesting boxes, bird tables, dove cots, flower trays and wishing wells.
They are based at a unit on the Ashburton Industrial Estate, provided by Herefordshire Council.
