A GRANDMOTHER was found dead at her home up to eight weeks after her death, an inquest has heard.
Beryl Matthews, 80, of Fallow Field Close, Hereford, was discovered in her bedroom by police on September 10 after concerned neighbours raised the alarm when she had not been seen for between six to eight weeks.
Police found her home locked and secure, with piles of unopened post and newspapers dating back to June.
They found no signs of injury or evidence or anything untoward taking place, the inquest heard.
Mrs Matthews was described as 'keeping herself to herself' and rarely leaving the house except to go shopping for groceries.
Coroner Mark Bricknell told the inquest that he was satisfied that Mrs Matthews died from unascertained medical causes and there were no suspicious findings.
Mr Bricknell paid his condolences to Mrs Matthews' family and recorded a narrative conclusion at the inquest at Hereford Town Hall on November 19.
