A CAT managed to get itself stuck in a drain which was just six inches wide.
A member of the public contacted the RSPCA after spotting the trapped cat in a drain in Hyde Ash, near Leominster.
Firefighters from Leominster were called to assist to rescue the cat from the drain.
RSPCA animal collection officer Glenn Baird, who was on duty for the animal welfare charity when the emergency call came in, said: “The cat had managed to get into a long drain that just six inches wide but couldn’t move to get out.
“The fire and rescue team managed to chip away at the concrete and cut through the pipes to free the cat uninjured. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to take a picture of the cat as he was too fast and was not hanging around for a photo session.
“I’d advise anyone who spots an animal in a similar situation to always get in touch with the RSPCA on our 24/7 emergency line 0300 1234 999 and not try to rescue the animal themselves as they could end up hurt or cause the animal more stress or injury.”
