CARS had to dodge between pedestrians when a large brawl spread on to one of Hereford’s busiest roads.
Trouble flared on Commercial Road during the early hours of New Year’s Day.
Video footage shows around 20 men and women on the roadside with punches exchanged.
A taxi has to take evasive action to avoid the crowd while a woman can be heard screaming.
At one point, a man runs across Commercial Road and straight into the path of a car coming down the narrow Monkmoor Street – and a collision is only narrowly avoided. West Mercia Police said they received a call at 1.05 on January 1 to reports of public disorder in the nearby Commercial Street.
This was monitored by CCTV operators and they continued to monitor the area.
Officers confirmed an ambulance was called at 1.37am when a woman cut her foot on broken glass.
This was cancelled when street pastors intervened offering to take her to hospital if she needed to go.
CCTV operators later reported disorder among a group of men.
The West Mercia spokesperson said they quickly dispersed and police arrived shortly after the incident was reported.
There is a warning of bad language in the video.
