AN inquest has been opened into the death of a Longtown man.
Emergency services were called to a farm in Trewern Road in the village in south-west Herefordshire on December 23.
Herefordshire Coroner's Court opened and adjourned an inquest on January 2 and named him as 65-year-old Simon Taylor - he died on December 24.
The fire service was called but when they arrived at the location, the man was already in the care of the paramedics.
An ambulance spokeswoman said they were called at 10.24am. An ambulance, a paramedic officer, two doctors from the Mercia Accident Rescue Service and a Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended and treated a man who had suffered serious injuries.
He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
Police were called to reports of a concern for welfare of a man in his 60s. A police spokeswoman said: "His next of kin have been informed and his death is not believed to be suspicious at this time."
