LOST in the forest or a quirky art installation? Decaying bicycles hang amongst the branches, exuding an air of mystery in our Camera Club picture of the day, taken by Jan Latusek.
The whimsical display, created by horticulturalists David Wheeler and Simon Dorrell, occupies just a small corner of Bryan's Ground, an internationally renowned contemporary reinterpretation of an Arts and Crafts garden in Stapleton, near Presteigne.
Working within the existing framework of brick walls and mature yew and box hedges of the garden, which dates 1912, the pair have extended and re-imagined the gardens to create a beguiling series of interconnecting spaces, each with their own unique theme.
Visitors can stroll through the three acre series of "garden rooms," furnished with follies, flowers, towers, topiaries and water features and take in the five acre arboretum on the bank of the River Lugg between 2pm and 5pm every Sunday and Monday from April 21 to July 29.
