COUNTY planners are expected to soon decide whether to change the use of an empty newsagent’s shop on a prominent Hereford street to make way for a cafe or restaurant.
Applicant Nicholas Lifely wants to change the planning permission of the former Wathens newsagent's on King Street from A1 for shops to A3 which is needed for a restaurant or cafe.
The plans also include the former cider shop next door.
If approved, this would lead to two establishments serving food next to each other with The Spread Eagle pub next door.
Herefordshire Council was expected to make a decision about the proposals on December 28 but has yet to do so.
