THE start of wild daffodil season on March 1 will also mark a major tree planting project on the Herefordshire/Gloucestershire border.
A joint event is being held at Queens Wood, Kempley, from 10am to 2pm by Dymock Forest Rural Action.
People are invited to help plant 500 trees in a special community event as part of the Centenary Glade project 'to nurture a shared forest unlike any other.'
The event will also mark the centenary of the formation of the Forestry Commission after the end of World War One.
Three local primary schools, three Women's Institutes, local parish councillors, landscape contractors and action group supporters will be there.
