A WOMAN was arrested after events took an ugly turn at a county bingo hall.
Police were called at 6.49pm yesterday to a report of an assault at Clifton Bingo Hall on South Street, Leominster.
A police spokeswoman confirmed that a 19-year-old-woman from Leominster was arrested on suspicion of assault.
The ambulance service was not called to the scene and it is not believed that the victim suffered serious injury.
The woman has received a caution from police.
Bingo hall staff said that the altercation had involved two girls.
Police were called after the instigator refused to leave when asked and continued to cause disruption at the hall.
"She then resisted arrest quite violently and the police officer had to call for back-up," a staff member said.
"It was very upsetting for the other players and it is not the sort of behaviour that should be condoned anywhere."
Eye witnesses described seeing a large police presence in Leominster last night, with "cars and vans coming from all directions".
