A HEREFORD factory has closed suddenly with all employees told they are now out of work.
Staff at Vision Gelpack were told yesterday that the company has been placed in administration.
Vison Gelpack is based off Grandstand Road and was formed in 2017 following the acquisition of the assets of Gelpack Excelsior by the Visionscape group.
The company specialises in packaging and had included the NHS as one of its former clients.
Gelpack's sites in Marden and their warehouse in Moreton-on-Lugg did not reopen after the original company went into administration in 2017 – unlike the factory off Faraday Road.
However, that building is now also closed.
Staff received a letter from Benjamin Wiles, who is named as a 'joint administrator'.
He said that, along with Geoffrey Bouchier of Duff & Phelps, he has to advise employees of the company's insolvency.
"The company is no longer in a position to continue your contract of employment on economic grounds," he adds.
"You should therefore regard your service as terminated with effect from 28 February 2019."
The Hereford Times is seeking a comment from Vision Gelpack.
