A PENSIONER in his seventies has been brutally attacked by thugs in an Hereford alleyway.
He was punched by two strangers, who then kicked and stamped on him as he lay on the ground.
He had been walking his dog at the time of the attack, and needed medical treatment for face and body injuries.
The attack happened in an alleyway between Pentwyn Court and Freda Pearce Close in Hereford between 7.10pm and 7.30pm on Saturday evening (March 23).
The first man is described as white and in his early 20s.
He was about 6ft tall, of stocky build with short dark hair, and is believed to have been riding a bicycle.
The second man is described as white, about 6ft tall, and of stocky build. He was bald and is also believed to have been riding a bicycle.
PC Tapsell of West Mercia Police said: "This was a particularly nasty and unprovoked assault that has left the victim both injured and shaken.
"We take reports of this nature very seriously and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault to please get in touch."
