BOSSES at a Hereford nursing home want permission to work on a protected tree after one of its branches snapped and nearly hit a car.
Managers at Oaklands Nursing Home, on Bodenham Road, say most of the limbs of the Cedar are split and overhanging.
The coniferous tree is subject to a preservation order and they have asked Herefordshire Council for permission to dismantle its branches and take them down.
They say the works are necessary after a near miss involved a branch falling and almost hitting a vehicle.
