THE author of a much-acclaimed debut novel will be giving a talk about it at Ross-on-Wye later this month.
The Doll Factory, by Elizabeth Macneal, is published by Picador on May 2.
Just five days later, Tuesday, May 7, she will be at Rossiter Books, The Corn Exchange, High Street, Ross on Wye, at 7pm to talk about it.
The novel is set in Victorian London, and Macneal’s inspirations lie with the pre-Raphaelites, drawing on a lifelong interest in Lizzie Siddal.
It has been described as a 'sharp, scary, gorgeously evocative tale of love, art and obsession' by Paula Hawkins, author of The Girl on the Train.
Author Ian Rankin called it 'a stunningly confident first novel…thoroughly engrossing.'
Tickets are £3 (redeemable against the book at the event), available from Rossiter Books Ross (01989 564464), Monmouth (01600 775575), and Leominster (01568 611766).
