A HEREFORD schoolgirl will have at least seven inches of her hair cut off as she raises money for charity.
Eight-year-old Sophie Lissaman wants to raise as much as possible for the Little Princess Trust as she donates her hair to make wigs for children who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.
So far she has raised £400 for the charity and her mother, Fiona, said Sophie wanted to do it of her own accord.
"We talked about it and she said one day she'd like to have it done. Then on Sunday (June 9) she said that she was ready," she said.
"I wouldn't pressure her. It wasn't a shock, she's eight so she knew when the time was right. It's a big thing for here.
"She knows why she is doing it. We've raised £400 so far and we want to raise as much as possible, every penny counts."
