FIRE engines drove across the Lugg Meadows near Hereford after a tractor and baler caught fire in a field of straw.
Flames also spread to a small area of the flats by Lugg Bridge Road at 6pm yesterday.
Three crews, two from Hereford and one from Leominster, went out to the scene and used hose reel jets to bring the flames under control.
