Abergavenny Big Fat Circus Day, in the town's Bailey Park on Sunday, July 21, is a celebration of all things fun, joyful and silly… Happy’s Circus will pop their top and perform four new shows throughout the day and Bailey Park will be filled with all manner of local stalls, kids' and adults' races, fancy dressing, even a fire-eating man!
There'll be workshops and live music throughout the day, opera classics with Barbara Kelly, Clare & The Cowboy, dancing, craft, vintage, feasting…all with a circus twist…hair glittering and face painting, printing with Skirrid Mountain Print studio and perfume making workshops, massage, Circus Skills workshops, award-winning cider and perry from Hollow Ash, a vintage tearoom and croquet pitch, Circus Crafting with the craftiest women in town, a coconut shy and Mix cocktail bar – in a horse box, naturally!
And if that's not enough to tempt you, what about ice creamand Chock Shop’s oozing chocolate brownies, beatboxing clowns, Madame Poulet and her pop-up chicken choir, bouncy castles and fairground rides for little & big, yummy treats – Greek wraps, fresh pizza, Thai tastes and the wildest of lamb.
Also appearing is drag rock queen Polly Hardcore, who she ran away with the Circus and look what happened!
