FLY-TIPPERS are thought to have struck in Bromyard this week, dumping tyres along a track used by walkers.
Several tyres were pictured abandoned along the path off Church Street in the town.
Herefordshire Council said the tyres were reported to them on Monday (August 5), but weren't there when they went to remove them on Wednesday.
The council has five days to remove non-hazardous fly-tipped material.
Any householder who fails to pass their waste to a licensed carrier, and whose waste is found fly-tipped, could face penalties of up to £400 under a new law passed this year.
