A VULNERABLE person was targeted by a burglar posing as the owner of a lost dog yesterday evening.
Police said that a man knocked at the door of a premises in Sollers Hope at about 1pm yesterday and asked the occupant if he could use their toilet.
He said he was in the area searching for his lost dog.
He was allowed entry to the property, but the resident later found that their handbag, which is described as navy blue with zips on top, and all of its contents had been stolen.
The man is described as white and of medium build and of average height with white hair. He is believed to be in his early 70s and was wearing walking clothing.
