Local comedian James Ryan has announced that Tony Law, as seen on BBC’s Have I Got News for You and Never Mind the Buzzcocks, is set to grace the stage at a local comedy show on Saturday, September 14 at the Green Dragon Hotel.
James, who runs comedy nights in the county, said "It’s great that Tony wanted to come back to Hereford to perform. We’ve had so many great shows and it attracts so many brilliant comedians who want to perform at such an intimate and special comedy club. When we found out Tony wanted to perform at our night - we bit his hand off. People would be mad to miss him at £12.50 a ticket in such an intimate venue, especially when he’s supported by up and coming stars Louis Burgess and Anna Keirle who regularly perform at top comedy clubs across the country."
Tony Law is a Canadian stand-up comedian, known for his highly surreal material and delivery, and 1950s Americana style of dress, favouring boots with turned-up jeans and a Viking explorer style of hair. A lot of his earlier material featured tales of his time-travelling exploits in the company of his sausage dog, Cartridge Davison. Cartridge is the eponymous Dog Of Time from his Edinburgh show of the same name. Last year's Battle for Icetopia from Tony Law and Friends won the Chortle Awards' Event Of The Year
Tony Law and Friends in the Battle for Icetopia, a two-hour comedy stage show on ice. About global warming. And Stalin.
Tony Law will be on stage at The Green Dragon on Saturday, September 14 at 7.30pm.
