A ROAD in a Herefordshire town will shut for up to five weeks at the end of the month so electric cables can be replaced.
Western Power Distribution will carry out the works in Kington which will result in Crooked Well being closed from 30 September.
A spokesperson said: "There is a diversion in place along Llewellyn Road for the period of the works, which involves the laying of 160m of underground cable.
"This is to replace the existing cable which is reaching the end of its working life and ensures the security of power supplies for years to come in the area.
"We are sorry for any inconvenience caused while we carry out these essential works."
The work also includes an upgrade to a local transformer that helps supply the town.
