PLANNING permission is being sought for a new £8million college in Hereford.
The former Broadlands Primary School on Prospect Walk will be demolished to make way for the Beacon College Special Academy, if plans are approved by Herefordshire Council.
The college will have places for 50 pupils, aged 16 to 19, with severe and complex learning difficulties once it opens in April 2021, contractor Interserve said in July.
Broadlands Primary School left the site in 2015 as they moved to a specially designed facility to Aylestone Business and Enterprise College in September 2015.

Now it's proposed the existing buildings are demolished, and asbestos carefully removed from the site.
The new building will have a total of 28 parking spaces, and 30 jobs could be created if the plans are given the green light.

The walls on the proposed building would be a mixture of pale cream render and yellow bricks, with aluminium windows and doors.
A green fencing would surround the site.
Comments on application 193165can be made until October 17, with planners expected to make a decision by December 9.
