A FORMER factory building could be due to get a new lease of life, a planning application has revealed.
Vision Gelpack, on Hereford's Westfields Trading Estate, closed suddenly in February of this year.
The building has remained empty since staff at the site were told they were out of work after the packaging company went into administration.
But an application has this week been made to Herefordshire Council for a change of use.
Applicant Emma Hathaway, of Play Planet, wants to turn part of the former industrial unit into a soft-play area.
A Play Planet spokesperson said the company has plans to expand their facilities in Hereford, and have been looking for larger premises for a couple of years.
The plans for the Faraday Road site would also include car parking, with 49 standard spaces, two disability spaces, and 12 cycle spaces.
If successful, the applicant expects the proposed soft-play site to create five full time and 20 part time jobs in addition to maintaining existing jobs.
People have until December 20 to comment on the scheme.
