In the run-up to Christmas, Hereford Chamber Choir will be performing a pair of concerts, the first, Carols in the Cloisters, on Thursday, December 5 in College Hall at Hereford Cathedral. The choir, directed by Simon Harper, will present a delightful programme of carols, readings and 20th century English choral music including Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols, in its annual fundraiser in aid of Save the Children which this year celebrates its 100th anniversary. The concert is at 7.30 pm with tickets, to include festive refreshments, available by contacting 01568 720416, or on the door.
Six days later, on Wednesday, December 11, the choir will perform Gadete! Music for Advent and Christmas, an an eclectic programme of music old and new for Advent and Christmas, with pieces by Victoria, Britten, Howells, Skempton and Briggs. This concert is in collaboration with Café at All Saints, who will provide a delicious meal for the audience at 6pm, with the concert following at 7.30pm.
