POLICE have held a man on suspicion of arson after a fire in a shop doorway in Hereford.
Firefighters were called to the former NatWest bank branch in Commercial Street in the early hours of this morning (Thursday) after flames were picked up by security cameras.
The fire was started in a bundle of clothes and triggered alarms in the building, which had become filled with smoke.
The fire brigade ventilated the building, but it is not known if any damage was caused.
A 33-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of arson and is in police custody.
