A PUBGOER’S night out ended in custody after he was refused service, a court heard.
Gwyn Williams, 52, of Highgrove Lane, Hereford, admitted drunk and disorderly behaviour when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford on December 18.
Nicola Ritchie, prosecuting, told the court that police were called to reports that Williams had got behind the bar, tried to pour his own drink, and was behaving aggressively after he was refused service at the Grandstand, Hereford, at 9.30pm on December 2.
The attending officers took Williams into their van and attempted to take him home, but he was arrested after providing a false address and verbally abusing the officers.
Speaking in his own defence, Williams told the court he had been through a hard couple of years, and had recently divorced.
“I just went out and was stupid,” Williams said.
Williams was given a nine-month conditional discharge. He was ordered to pay costs of £135 and a £21 victim surcharge.
