VERY strong winds will batter Herefordshire this weekend, the Met Office has warned.
A yellow warning for wind has been issued for Saturday and Sunday, with gusts of up to 80 miles per hour expected in some exposed and hilly parts of the country.
Gusts of 50 to 60 miles per hour are expected across inland areas.
Unsettled conditions are set to hit on Saturday. Showery spells will give way to heavy rain as we move into Sunday, with the west likely to bear the brunt of the weather.
Forecasters at the Met Office have warned that winds of this strength across a wide area have the potential to produce disruption to transport, with a risk of fallen debris and trees on roads.
Rail, air and ferry transport delays are also affected, and travellers are advised to check their route before departing.
