We asked for your responses - this is what you sent.
What is your response?Citizens Advice Herefordshire: Still here to help and support through Coronavirus Lockdown. Citizens Advice Herefordshire is still here to help and support the community across the county, especially those who are particularly vulnerable, during these difficult and trying times. As with most organisations, Citizens Advice Herefordshire has had to respond very quickly to the current situation and alter how we provide an effective service during the lockdown. We feel that we are possibly needed now more than ever as the community will be facing issues that they couldn't have imagined possible as little as couple of months ago. So we want people to know that we are still open for business and here to help. Citizens Advice Herefordshire is helping people by telephone with dedicated, highly-trained volunteers and staff working from home during this period. You can contact with us by simply texting the number listed below: Text on 0786 00 77 311 stating your name, postcode, and the type of advice you need (for example, 'DEBT', 'HOUSING' or 'BENEFITS'). One of our advisers will then call you back on your mobile phone. Or, email Citizens Advice Herefordshire online at advice@citizensadviceherefordshire.org.uk for initial contact by email. Your local website is: https://www.herefordshirecab.org.uk and more information can be found on the Citizens Advice national website at: www.citizensadvice.org.uk. Citizens Advice Herefordshire is also on Facebook @caherefordshire and Twitter @caherefordshir1. Stay Safe. Together we'll get through this. And, we look forward to the time when we can return to normal working and again meet with our clients face-to-face. As always, our service is free, friendly and confidential.
What is your response?Good afternoon. I am writing to you regarding our website which has been set up by myself and my husband in response to the Covid-19 crisis. We are currently living in Worcester, isolating as a family due to my husband having a health condition which makes him high-risk. We are very well supported in our community by friends however we are very conscious that this is not the case for many people. We became aware that many people who are currently self isolating or purely do not wish to leave their homes during the covid-19 crisis are struggling to get home delivery from the larger supermarkets. We came up with the idea of creating a website which is a directory of local businesses who provide a home delivery service. Families are incredibly concerned for relatives who cannot obtain essential items such as food and household items. Whilst searching for such businesses we came across many who have had to diversify to stay afloat during the current crisis. For instance there are pubs running shops and home delivery from their premises. As this is not the usual service that they provide, many people in the community do not know that this is available to them. Our website brings these businesses, many of them small, to the forefront and hopefully supports them through an incredibly challenging time. The majority of the businesses listed are recommendations from members of the public sourced through community pages on Facebook. We asked for help and people responded incredibly well recommending businesses who had provided a good service during a very difficult time. We started with the county of Worcestershire and we have fantastic coverage with a whole range of items from groceries to meat and fish.... Pet supplies to cupcakes. The reaction to our website has been amazing from both members of the public and very grateful businesses owners who truly appreciate the help. This makes us want to take this even further. We have started coverage in Herefordshire, Warwickshire and tipping into Birmingham. We are hoping to cover as many areas nationwide as possible. We are a small concern though, with myself my husband and two lovely friends who are volunteering also. I would like to stress that we have done this to help people and there is no financial gain to us. It is a free service to businesses wishing to be listed and it is free for anybody to use. We would really like to get the word out further and encourage more businesses who offer delivery to add themselves onto the website so that we can help wider communities. This provision has been welcomed and shared by community support groups, some Gps and social workers. I hope this gives you an idea of what we are about. If you need any more information please either drop me a line or give me a call. Coverage of our project would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Nikki and Dean Andrews

What is your response?I've fought to get an emergency + healthcare services wellbeing charity registered for 12 months and it has finally happened! Just in time for this pandemic. This is my first appeal. Would you mind posting it to your site? I'm a former Police Officer who is passionate about preventing burnout in our emergency services, military and healthcare professionals. We are based in Herefordshire. YOU can give an NHS hero time out so they don’t burn out by texting CUPPA to 70085 and donating just £2. Your donation will give an #NHSHero a cup of quality fresh filter coffee, but more than that, you're giving them timeout out to prevent burnout. These reusable, recyclable coffee pouches will enable them to share a rejuvenating coffee, take a moment, follow our stress relieving exercise and reset. We will be sending these to intensive care teams across the country Texts cost £2 plus standard message rate.
