A CRASH involving a motorbike has closed a busy road in Hereford this afternoon.
The B4399 Straight Mile in Rotherwas is currently blocked near the Essar garage.
Emergency services are on scene, and police are currently directing traffic at the Rotherwas South roundabout and the Chapel Road roundabout.
An ambulance service spokesperson said they were called to reports of a crash involving a van and a motorbike at 1.26pm today.
Two ambulances were in attendance, and paramedics treated the male motorcyclist, who was seriously injured in the crash, before taking him to hospital in Hereford for further treatment.
One person, who was travelling in the van, has also been taken to hospital for treatment.
Three other people did not require medical treatment.
UPDATE 3.55pm: Crash scene investigators are now on scene. The road remains closed while a crash scene investigation takes place. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
