One of Powys' most well-known politicians has been moved out of intensive care but remains in hospital.
William Powell, Powys County Councillor for Talgarth, has been receiving treatment for coronavirus at Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny since March 26.
Over the weekend, Coun Powell's condition improved and he was able to breathe unaided.
Community news site FYI: Talgarth reported that Coun Powell's family stress he is "still quite poorly and has a long recovery ahead, but are delighted with the progress and good news".
"They are very very thankful to all the wonderful NHS nurses and doctors taking care of William."
Welsh Liberal Democrats, who Cllr Powell represents, said in a statement on April 19 that he was "now conscious again" after two and a half weeks in hospital.
The former Assembly Member and Welsh Liberal Democrat President has received many messages on social media wishing him a speedy recovery.
Presiding officer Elin Jones AM said on that it was "such good news" and wished "Bill well for a full recovery", while Swansea West Assembly Member Julie James said she was "so pleased for him and his family".
