IT was another long day for police on Herefordshire's roads yesterday, as they were kept busy performing traffic stops across the county.

One driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and possession of class B and class C drugs after they were stopped and searched near Hereford following targeted intelligence.

"A quantity of cannabis and some illegal medication was found in the car," police said.

In total, the LPPT South-West Mercia team issued five traffic tickets, conducted three vehicle searches, seized three vehicles, and arrested two drivers, the second arrest coming after a driver blew almost four times the drink-drive limit at the roadside, while on patrol across Herefordshire and Worcestershire yesterday.
