A LORRY driver has been fined after rear-ending another vehicle on a busy main road.
Charlie Alan James, of Garnstone Castle Road, Weobley, admitted driving without due care and attention when he appeared before magistrates in Llanelli on June 10.
The court heard James had been driving a Scania lorry cab on the A438 towards Hay-on-Wye when he crashed at Three Cocks on October 18 last year.
Traffic ahead had come to a halt while a vehicle turned into the school entrance, but 23-year-old James failed to stop, hitting the vehicle in front of him, the prosecution said.
Magistrates heard that the impact had pushed that vehicle into the back of the vehicle in front, causing damage to both.
The driver of one vehicle and a passenger travelling in the other both sustained slight injuries in the crash.
James was fined £425 and received seven points on his licence. He must also pay costs of £85 and a £42 victim surcharge.
